Iran Hits U.S. Base in Qatar

Iran attacks the Al Udeid air base in Qatar with missiles in retaliation for the U.S. strikes against Iranian nuclear sites.

All the inbound missiles were intercepted by Patriot air defense systems and no casualties were reported. UAE and Qatar airspace is closed, Qatar officials responded that "it reserves the right to respond directly in a manner equivalent with the nature and scale of this brazen aggression.” Saudi Arabia also condemned the attack.

Interestingly, a New York Times report claims Iran coordinated with Qatari officials in advance of the attacks to minimize casualties. This attack looks symbolic, allowing Iran to retaliate and save face without actually escalating the conflict.
